Cats and Whiskey

First the cats:
My best friends birthday is this Saturday.
I tried the Gracie bag pattern I bought in Concord, Mass. The pattern was easier than expectected. I think there will be more bags in the future. The bag took me one afternoon.

To complete the present I added an 'Almost Free Tissue Holder' and made another shopping bag. My friend has two cats (at the moment) and two dogs. A little while ago she complained that everyone is giving her cat stuff as presents and nothing with dogs... but I could not resist to buy this fabric for her. Sorry, doggies! Maybe for christmas!

I finished the my husbands Whiskey socks: Spey Valley from Nancy Bush's book Knitting on the road: Sock Patterns for the Traveling Knitter. The yarn is Regia Stretch in a dark greyish variegated colour. I think the pattern on the cuff would show better in a solid colour.

I think my sockpal received her socks in Finland. I got a note from the database. But she hasn't blogged about her package yet.
My upstream sockpal left another comment here. She is not finished yet. So I have to wait patiently... but it's difficult!

are you a displaced Canadian? (noticed the way you spelled "colour")

Wow, Finland! I had a long distance sock pal last year, I'm glad I had a more local one this year. At least with the data base this year, we know that they arrived!!

I blogged about my socks today. It was very interesting to read how widely they have travelled! Socks on ranch, socks on beach.. And they fit perfectly!

Thank you very much!

Hi Kathinka! The socks I'm making for you - they are gorgeous! Ask my blog readers, they'll tell you! hehe First sock finished, second sock 1/3 of the way done. I hope to get them mailed off in just a few more days! It's hard for you to wait but you know what... I got the package from MY sock pal. But I didn't open it. Because I haven't finished your socks. I am waiting until your package has gone in the mail because it wouldn't be fair for me to have my socks if yours haven't been mailed. I'm knitting as fast as I can! :)

Take care and I hope you're not having crazy weather over there!! xoxox
